At MTG Consultants, we have a proven process for helping schools and teachers improve mathematics instruction. Our approach is based on five key steps: assess, plan, act, measure, and evaluate.
Here’s how we works:
How We Work
Assess
We begin by conducting a thorough assessment of the school’s mathematics program. This includes a review of student achievement data, an analysis of the curriculum and instructional materials, and an evaluation of teaching practices. We also gather input from teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of mathematics instruction at the school.
Plan
Based on the results of the assessment, we develop a customized plan for improving mathematics instruction at the school. This plan includes specific goals, strategies, and action steps that are tailored to the unique needs and challenges of the school.
Act
Once the plan is in place, we work closely with teachers and administrators to implement the strategies and action steps outlined in the plan. This may include providing professional development workshops, coaching, and mentoring for teachers, and curriculum development support.
Measure
Throughout the implementation phase, we track and measure progress toward the goals outlined in the plan. We use a variety of tools and methods to assess student learning, including formative and summative assessments, classroom observations, and student work samples.
Evaluate
Finally, we evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that the school is on track to achieve its goals. This includes reviewing student achievement data, analysing the impact of the strategies and action steps, and gathering feedback from teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
